Back to the Beginning of.... Crochet.

Most recently, after months of knitting and not finishing anything except a  lime green tea cozy, I got the urge to pick up crocheting again. The nice thing about crocheting is that hooks are inexpensive and, if you've already got yarn you're set to go. I found this cute little pamphlet from Coats and Clark called Contemporary Crochet and I was off. My first project was the Mediterranean Surf Doily. Quite an accomplishment for not crocheting in years. The thing that I find the most fulfilling is that previously I was never able to read patterns and was stuck making things like single or double crocheted scarves or the occasional hat. After checking a few books out from the library, I found that reading patterns really isn't that hard after all. If I could do it for knitting why not crochet?

And so, here is my first piece in warm teal.

Note: this piece was challenging enough to complete and interesting enough to hold my attention.
